Gibson Bridge

The project involves replacing the existing bridge with a new precast concrete structure and upgrading safety infrastructure, including fencing, railings, and barricades. The aqueduct, a fully operational bluestone-lined open channel, requires careful planning to ensure uninterrupted functionality and structural preservation during construction.

Services Provided

  • Conduction of a detailed investigation of the existing bridge and assisted with engineering design for the new structure.

  • Design of bridge, using precast segments for faster construction.

  • Installation of a temporary pedestrian bridge to maintain safe access during construction.

  • Procured and fabricated steel members, then hot-dip galvanized them for durability.

  • Coordination of the assembly and installation of the bridge to meet engineering tolerances.

  • Assessment of the condition of the deteriorated carpark and surrounding areas.

  • Collaboration with our client to develop a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the rectification works, providing expert advice and recommendations on the best approach to address the issues within budget and time constraints. 

  • Implementation of safety measures by cordoning off the affected areas to prevent public access during the works.

  • Carrying out the necessary resurfacing and repairs to the carpark and other high-traffic areas, ensuring a safe and functional environment for the public until the larger capital project is completed.
